AJ’s Complete Automotive was founded in 2007 by Justin Pogones and Amy Moore. Both Amy and Justin had been business owners before. Justin had an auto shop and Amy a fence installation company and Lawn Care Company. Amy found Justin with an ad in the local Star News newspaper ad looking for a maintenance mechanic. Once they connected their conversations grew into taking on a new business venture. Soon they were looking for a place to open AJ’s and landed at 279 Carson Ave in Elk River, Minnesota. Justin and Amy raised their 6 children at the shop.
They managed to do homework, race dirt track cars on the weekends, attend dance and soccer, attend gymnastics and theatre performances, learn to drive cars, and attend graduation for 5 of the children until the last graduation in 2023, all while running the shop. Since 2007 AJ’s has served the Elk River community. We have watched our clients become our friends and family. Then, we watched our customers children learn to drive and bring their vehicles to our shop for service. We have valued those relationships and couldn’t have built our business without our customer families. We look forward to serving our community for many more years to come.
